Inaugurated, SMSI Riau Ready to Partner with the Government

PEKANBARU – Management of the Indonesian Cyber ​​Media Union (SMSI) Riau Province for the 2020-2025 Service Period, was inaugurated by the General chairperson of the Central SMSI, Drs Firdaus MSi, Monday (21/12/2020), at the Ballroom of the Riau Bank Riau Islands.

The inauguration which was held in person and via zoom, was attended by the Governor of Riau represented by the Regional Secretary of Riau Province Drs H Yan Prana Jaya, the Chairperson of the Riau DPRD Yulisman SSi, Danrem 031 / Wira Bima Brig. Gen. TNI M Syech Ismed SE MHan, Chairperson of PWI Riau Zulmansyah Sekedang SSos, chairperson of the Riau Information Commission Zufra Irwan SE, and Director of Bank Riau Kepri, Dr. Andi Buchari.

After inaugurating, the General Chairperson of the SMSI Pusat Firdaus said that SMSI was born in Banten on March 7, 2017 and has become a constituent of the Press Council on May 29, 2020, and has 1,224 members throughout Indonesia.

“SMSI from Riau for Indonesia. This means that SMSI is inseparable from the people of Riau, and it can become a partner for Regional Governments throughout Indonesia, Riau Province, “said Firdaus.

It carried the inauguration of the Riau SMSI Management out under the COVID-19 health protocol. Of the 51 Riau SMSI administrators who took part in person, 25 were members. While others followed.

In his remarks, the Governor of Riau, represented by the Riau Regional Secretary, Yan Prana Jaya, hoped that SMSI Riau could contribute positively to Riau’s progress in the future.

The Riau SMSI management under the leadership of chairperson Novrizon Burman, secretary of Zulmiron, and treasurer Luna Agustin, can also become partners of the Riau Provincial Government in disseminating development information in Riau Province.

According to him, the government and the media have a symbiotic mutualism relationship. The government in several aspects needs the media, and vice versa.

The Riau Provincial Government, he said, was always ready to be the source of the data and information needed. And the media will always provide information based on news regulations.

“Thus, the press, including cyber media, is still trusted by the public as a pillar of democracy by presenting honest, accurate and aim information,” he concluded.
