Jayapura – In order to keep the environment in Papua green and clean and sustainable. The young generation of Jayapura Papua took action to reforest forest areas by planting 2,000 tree seedlings.
The green and clean action of forest areas in Papua is carried out in mutual cooperation and is supported by the Moeldoko Center Papua, Garuda Bakti Nusantara and the CEO of the Indonesia Chapter Papua, which deserves appreciation. This is in line with the government’s program to create and maintain sustainable forest areas.
Moeldoko Center Papua, who is also Deputy Chairperson of Garuda Bakti Nusantara, Decy Violent, said that the reforestation tree planting activity “Tree Tong Pu Live” aims to preserve nature and forests in Papua so that they are maintained.
“We Papuan youths who are members of the Moeldoko Center, CEO of Indonesia and Garuda Bakti Nusantara want to take action and participate in protecting the natural environment through social service actions to plant trees on a bare mountain in Sentani, Jayapura City,” he said Friday (29/10/2021).
Decy said, the action of planting tree seeds is a concern for Papuan millennials to re-green every mountain that is arid and prone to landslides. “We have prepared 2,000 tree seedlings. Today we have planted a thousand Mahogany tree seeds. And next, a thousand ironwood tree seedlings, cassowary trees, matoa tree seeds and various fruits,” he said.
