Building Food Security through WPO’s Collaboration with Indonesian Farmers Community

HE. Mia Srikandi, Regional Director of WPO’s NTT NTB Region, has established various farmer groups to enhance agricultural production and quality in the NTT and NTB regions. These groups include vegetable and fruit farmers, rice, corn, peanut, soybean, onion, and chili farmers, as well as shrimp and lobster aquaculture groups. Additionally, groups have been formed for poultry, cattle, buffalo, goat, fish, and beekeeping for honey production.

This initiative aims to improve the nutritional well-being of the NTT and NTB communities by increasing agricultural and livestock production quality. HE. Mia Srikandi has received full support from the local government, DPRD, and the community from all walks of life.

In support of the national food security program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto, WPO, comprising 202 member countries, and WPO Regional NTB NTT are collaborating with the Indonesian Farmers Community (KPN). Through this partnership, WPO and KPN aim to educate farmers on effective agricultural management, promote food security, and improve farmers’ livelihoods.
