SAMARINDA – The potential of the Mahakam River in Samarinda City is believed to be an international tourist destination in the future.
“I believe and believe, the Mahakam River will become an international tourist destination in the future. Because the Mahakam River is not available in all provinces in Indonesia,” said Deputy Governor (Wagub) East Kalimantan H Hadi Mulyadi, Sunday (22/5/ 2022).
According to Hadi, the Mahakam River crossing is a rare destination in Indonesia. Because, only Samarinda City has it.
In fact, Hadi noted, there were approximately 10 times bringing guests from outside East Kalimantan to carry out the Mahakam River crossing. In fact, the Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia also enjoyed the atmosphere along the Mahakam River.
“Some are similar to the river with Samarinda City. However, it is not as beautiful as the Mahakam River. Visitors can see views of the four bridges that have become icons of Samarinda, the Islamic Center Mosque and the City of Edge. Both at dusk and at night,” explained Hadi.
Therefore, this potential should not be wasted. Must be put to good use and professionally developed. So that it becomes a high attraction for immigrants who visit East Kalimantan and especially the City of Samarinda.
