MAGETAN – The strands of the Indonesian Archipelago are a beauty that needs to be seen before we leave. A piece of beauty in the corner of the Magetan district, East Java, is no less interesting than tourist destinations in other areas.

 

Therefore, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Magetan Indonesian Cyber ​​Media Union (SMSI) management, the SMSI center team stopped by to enjoy Magetan tourism.

 

SMSI has so far contributed to the growth of the tourism sector, through news coverage published by SMSI member cyber press companies.

 

SMSI, which is one of the constituents of the Press Council, continues to consistently promote tourism development.

 

Previously, SMSI had carried out the SMSI Toba Caldera Geopark Expedition in the context of the 2023 National Press Day (HPN) to help encourage tourism progress in the western part of Indonesia, namely Main Sumatra (North Sumatra). Now it’s my turn to visit Magetan.

 

Coinciding with the momentum of the inauguration of the SMSI management in Magetan Regency in East Java Province, on Thursday (16/3/2023), the Central SMSI carried out a Magetan Tourism trip.

 

The delegation of the Central SMSI who took part in the activity included Deputy Chairperson of the Central SMSI Yono Hartono, Head of Law, Arbitration and Legislation Division Makali Kumar and Advisory Board Hendry Ch Bangun.

 

“According to the message from the general chairman of SMSI Pak Firdaus, we were assigned to tour the regions, to participate in encouraging the local government and local communities to promote tourism. This is a form of SMSI’s consistency, to participate in generating economic recovery in the tourism sector in various regions in Indonesia, one of which is in East Java Province, “said Makali Kumar during a visit to the Genilangit-Magetan Park tourist attraction, Wednesday (15/3/2023) .

 

The tourist visit of the Central SMSI together with the East Java Province SMSI and the Magetan Regency SMSI, was carried out for three days, from 14-16 March 2023.

 

Genilangit Tourism Charm

Starting the activities of the SMSI group visiting the Genilangit Park tourist attraction. This beautiful nature tourism has been inaugurated since 2017.

 

Here offers nature tourism with a contemporary concept. Visitors are fascinated by the view of the slopes of Mount Lawu with pine trees that fill the green hillsides.

 

Apart from enjoying the cold atmosphere of the mountains, visitors can also take pictures at the various photo spots provided.

 

Pine forests and green hills are a sight that will spoil the eyes of visitors here. Visitors can take a leisurely walk on the paths in the forest.

 

Occasionally you can stop by the tree house or sit on a bench while chatting with your family. Hammocks are also available if tourists want to relax in the shade of trees. Don’t worry if it rains, because the manager has provided several gazebos in the middle of the forest.

The pine forest here is also filled with bird houses. Apart from being an ornament, this bird house is also expected to invite birds to play in this forest.

 

Colorful umbrellas can also be seen hanging from the forest ceiling. If bored, visitors can enjoy a different view from the top of the tree house.

 

One of the main photo spots in the Genilangit tourist park is the Japan Corner. Here visitors can rent kimonos for women, and samurai clothes for men.

 

With supporting properties such as umbrellas and swords, you can take Japanese-style photos. Without having to go all the way to Japan.

 

“This photo spot at the Japan Corner is perfect for couples who are traveling, as well as visitors who want to pose like in the land of Sakura,” explained Yono Hartono, who experienced first-hand the photo spots at the Japan Corner while wearing a samurai suit with his sword.

 

Genilangit Tourism Park is also a suitable area for group gatherings. Starting from company family gatherings, communities, groups of school children, to extended families.

 

Various activities were held, ranging from group gymnastics, discussions in open areas, to camping. For visitors who bring children, there is no need to worry because the manager has also provided a playground for children. This park consists of swings and a very sloping wall climbing game. Apart from that, there are game facilities that are more challenging for adrenaline, ATV games and flying fox.

Interestingly, in the tourist village of Genilangit, there is one more hidden but very interesting spot. Is Tirtosari Waterfall which is located about two kilometers from the park entrance.

 

Visitors will be treated to views of the green farmland of the residents before the water reaches this waterfall. The cool atmosphere, the cold water and the fog that sometimes falls, add to the atmosphere of this waterfall.

This tourist object, which covers 7-13 hectares, must continue to be professionally managed and developed. So that local and foreign tourists will continue to arrive and have a positive impact on regional economic growth from the tourism sector,” Makali added.

 

Not only seeing the beauty of nature, at this Genilangit tourist attraction the SMSI management also had the opportunity to taste the local Poncol Enak (Colenak) durian.

“I just happened to get one that looks like copper, it’s really delicious, it sticks in the mouth,” said Hendry CH Bangun, Central SMSI Advisor.

 

According to him, the “Colenak” durian was the best durian he had ever tasted.

“I have eaten a lot of durian in many places, that’s the best,” said Hendry.

Furthermore, the SMSI group visited the Sarangan Lake tourist attraction, which is still in the Magetan district.

 

Sarangan Lake, is one of the popular objects in Magetan Regency which is a favorite for tourists. This tourist attraction presents a wide and clean view of the water lake.

 

Not only that, Sarangan tourism which is located on the slopes of Mount Lawu has a cool and beautiful mountain background. This is one of the recommendations for interesting tourist destinations that tourists can visit.

 

With beautiful and beautiful natural scenery, we can relieve fatigue and fatigue from various daily activities. Then, visitors can enjoy some of the facilities offered, from boat rides, water rickshaws, to going around the tourist complex on horseback.

 

The tourist location of Sarangan Lake is about 16 km from Magetan City or 5 km from Tawangmangu. We can go to tourist sites by using public transportation, or private vehicles.

 

“Visitors to this Sarangan Lake tourist attraction can reach 5,000 to 7,000 people per day. In addition to growing the community’s economy, this tourist attraction is able to contribute to Regional Original Revenue (PAD) of around Rp. 17 billion in 2022,” said Citra from the Magetan Tourism and Culture Office.

 

Ki Mageti Mosque Becomes Religious Tourism

after visiting natural tourism objects, the SMSI group also made a visit to religious tourism, namely the Ki Mageti Mosque which is located in the Refugia Flower Garden in Plaosan District.

 

This mosque is full of history of spreading Islam in East Java, especially in Magetan. The Ki Mageti Mosque was built from wood, the first Great Mosque in Magetan which was built in 1886. The 17 x 17m wide mosque was built using the remains of the pillars of the Baitussalam Magetan Great Mosque.

 

“The establishment of the Ki Mageti Mosque will have an extraordinary effect, it will become a destination for tourists to worship,” said Magetan Regent Suprawoto during a friendly meeting with all Central and regional SMSI administrators at the Magetan Regency Government Hall, Wednesday night (15/3/2023 ).

 

145 Tourism Activities

 

Magetan Regent, Dr. Drs. Suprawoto, S.H., M.Si said, in 2023, the Magetan Regency Government will schedule 145 tourism and cultural activities to be held in the Calendar of Events (CoE) throughout 2023. As an effort to support the tourism and economic sector in Magetan.

 

It is hoped that these agendas will be able to increase the level of tourist visits to Magetan during 2023. All agendas listed in the 2023 activity calendar can be accessed on the website Wisatadan Budaya.magetan.go.id.

 

“We urge tourism business actors that the efforts that have been made by the Magetan Regency Government can be an opportunity to further advance the tourism business in Magetan. We hope that SMSI will help the success of these tourism and cultural agendas,” explained Regent Suprawoto.

He also wants all the agendas proclaimed at the CoE Magetan 2023 to be lively and able to raise the name of Magetan Regency and Magetan tourism to be better known at the national and international levels.

 

According to the data, there are various tourist destinations in Magetan, ranging from nature, history and culture, culinary tourism, and tourist villages. For example, there are Tirto Sari Waterfall, Refugia Gardens, Genilangit Tourism Park, Tirto Gumarang, Mojosemi Forest Park, Lawu Green Forest, Susu Singolangu Village, Jabung Village Tourism, Sumber Dodol Tourism Village, and Sumber Sawit Bathing Village Tourism.

 

Apart from that there is Magetan Park, Gorang Gareng Bathing Tour, Sumber Bening Culinary, Madigondo Village Tour, and Gandu Roasted Chicken Culinary.

 

With Magetan tourism becoming increasingly known, it is hoped that it will have an impact on improving the local community’s economy.

SMSI Magetan inauguration

 

After carrying out a tourist expedition, the SMSI was inaugurated and confirmed in Magetan Regency at the Surya Graha Hall, Magetan, Thursday morning (16/3/2023).

The Magetan Regency SMSI chaired by Rendra Sunarjono was inaugurated and inaugurated by the East Java SMSI Deputy Chair for Organization, Sokip, SH, MH. The inauguration and inauguration ceremony was marked by the handing over of the SMSI flag by the Deputy Chairperson of SMSI East Java Organizational Affairs to the Chairman of SMSI Magetan Regency, Rendra Sunarjono, and witnessed directly by the Deputy Chairperson of central SMSI, Yono Hartono.

 

“We hope that with the formation and inauguration of the Magetan Regency SMSI Management, we can maintain the good name of the organization and can also bring good progress and change to press companies in Magetan,” said the deputy chairman of the Central SMSI, Yono Hartono, after the inauguration of the Magetan Regency SMSI, period 2022-2025.

Magetan Regent Suprawoto in his remarks while attending the inauguration ceremony hoped that the presence of SMSI in Magetan could have a positive impact on the Magetan district.

 

“Of course, after the presence of SMSI in Magetan, we can cooperate in advancing and developing Magetan Regency to be better,” asked Regent Suprawoto, who previously served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Information for the 2014-2016 period.

 

Meanwhile, the chairman of SMSI Magetan, Rendra Sunarjono, said that currently there are (eight) local press companies that have joined SMSI in Magetan Regency, East Java.

 

“In the near future we will soon hold a meeting with other administrators to organize SMSI programs in Magetan, of course we are ready to work together with the Regional Government,” he said.

 

After the inauguration, it was followed by a seminar on the role of the press in development with speakers Yono Hartono, Makali Kumar and Hendry Ch Bangun.
