Indisputable, the Defendant Ensures Mardani H Maming Doesn’t Receive Mining Permit Gratification Funds

BANJARMASIN – The allegation that Mardani Haji Maming also received the proceeds of gratuities in the alleged corruption case of the former Head of the ESDM Agency of Tanah Bumbu Regency, Raden Dwidjono Putrohadi Sutopo, was denied.

During the trial of the defendant’s examination at the Banjarmasin Corruption Court, Monday (23/5), Dwidjono as the defendant confirmed that Mardani H Maming, the former regent of Tanah Bumbu, did not receive a penny from the proceeds of gratification for the transfer of mining permits worth Rp. 27.6 billion in this case.

This was revealed when the Public Prosecutor from the Attorney General’s Office, Abdul Salam, asked Dwi directly whether or not Mardani H Maming had enjoyed the flow of funds.

“There is no company money (Rp 27.6 billion),” said Dwi in response to Salam’s question when he was questioned as a defendant.

Salam said that his party was asking this to avoid any polemics arising from the current ongoing case.

Because Salam said, lest we criminalize someone without solid evidence.

“We don’t want to name people as suspects if there is not enough evidence, sir,” said Salam to Dwi.

Then the presiding judge of the trial, Yusriansyah, took over, and then reaffirmed Dwi’s statement regarding the flow of funds.

But again, Dwi made sure. “So out of Rp27.6 billion, no one went to the regent?” Yusriansyah asked. “Nothing noble,” answered Dwi.

After the trial, which was held from 4 pm to 10 pm, Salam said, according to the facts of the trial, the defendants enjoyed the money from the alleged gratification of Rp. 27.6 billion.

“Regarding this case, Rp. 27.6 billion was enjoyed by the defendant himself, his family through the company PT BMPE,” said Salam.

Meanwhile, the Defendant’s Legal Advisor, Sahlan Alboneh, confirmed that the money worth Rp. 27.6 billion in this case did not go to Maming.

In addition to examining the defendant, at the previous trial there were also witnesses who made it easy for the defendant to present.

They are Dr. Muzakkir as a criminal law expert from the University of Indonesia, and Margarito Kamis as an expert in state administration from Khairul Ternate University.
