SERANG – In order to welcome National Press Day (HPN), the Indonesian Cyber Media Union (SMSI) built a 750 meter long road with a width of 2.5 meters and 16 Bathing and Washing Toilet (MCK) in the Walantaka area, Serang City, Banten., the help provided by SMSI for residents of Serang City was inaugurated by the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tri Rismaharini, Sunday (7/2/2021).
The General chairperson of SMSI, Firdaus admitted he wanted to inspire other press communities by building roads and toilets. He said that the Walantaka people are still traditional and still practice open defecation (Dolbon / Modol in Kebon).
“This is my friends’ initiative to provide toilets. So that you can use each other. So we forced it. It does not mean that we have capital, but because SMSI cooperates to help, “he said in his speech. SMSI itself tries to donate, that the SMSI organization must provide benefits for the nation and state. In the same place, Deputy chairperson of the Press Council, Hendry CH, appreciated SMSI. Despite being the youngest child in the constituency of the Press Council.
“We hope we do not see the press from afar, but carry out its activities to the community,” he said. The Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tri Rismaharini, added that his party was grateful because the residents had easy access via SMSI. He was surprised because there were other parties who could build roads for the public’s interests.
“I just found out that there are other parties besides the government building roads. For that I express my gratitude for contributing to the road for the residents, “he said. “So our Mayor must give an award. Once again, this is an extraordinary concern, ” he continued.
