BANJARMASIN – Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Destry Damayanti, led the Inauguration Ceremony of the Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office (KPw BI) for South Kalimantan Province, Wahyu Pratomo, on Monday (20/02) at the Mahligai Pancasila Banjarmasin.
With this inauguration, Wahyu Pratomo officially replaces Imam Subarkah who currently serves as Head of the Legal Department. This inauguration procession is a follow-up to the inauguration and handover of positions that were carried out on 4 January 2023 by the Governor of Bank Indonesia to 26 work unit heads, both at the head office and at the Domestic Representative Office.
In order to improve the performance of KPw BI for South Kalimantan Province, in his remarks, Senior Deputy Governor Destry conveyed several directions. First, strengthening synergies with the South Kalimantan Provincial Government and regional policy makers to maintain recovery momentum and anticipate the impact of global stagflation risks on the national economy, and South Kalimantan is no exception.
Second, new sources of economic growth need to be continuously explored, especially to prepare for a green economy transition, especially in terms of developing tourism and preserving regional culture such as in the Old City Area of Banjarmasin, in order to support South Kalimantan’s role as a buffer for the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago.
Third, optimizing the role of KPw BI in South Kalimantan Province, both through developing regional leading MSMEs, digitizing the economy, and supporting inflation control within the framework of expanding the National Movement for Food Inflation Control (GNPIP) to minimize the risk of food inflation originating from volatile foods. ).
Deputy Governor Senior Destry also advised that these three things need to be carried out consistently, innovatively and synergistically with the Regional Government and stakeholders in South Kalimantan.
In line with that, the Governor of South Kalimantan, H. Sahbirin Noor, also expressed his highest gratitude and appreciation to KPw BI of South Kalimantan Province which has become an economic development partner for the South Kalimantan Provincial Government, especially in three areas of economic development, namely controlling inflation, digitalization of the economy, and economic development through empowering MSMEs.
Governor Sahbirin Noor also hopes that Wahyu Pratomo will be able to continue the leadership relay of the South Kalimantan Provincial KPw BI, in order to support the economic progress and better welfare of the people of South Kalimantan.
In particular, Governor Sahbirin Noor and Chairman of the DPRD of South Kalimantan Province, H. Supian H.K., also presented a certificate of appreciation to Imam Subarkah as a token of appreciation for the best contribution and performance that has been given to the progress of South Kalimantan Province while serving as Head of KPw BI South Kalimantan Province since February to December 2022.
The inauguration agenda was also attended by the Heads of Bank Indonesia Work Units at the Head Office and the Kalimantan region, Regional Heads, Officials of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Banking Leaders, and Bank Indonesia Strategic Partner Leaders in the working area of KPw BI South Kalimantan Province.
Appointment and repositioning of new leaders at Bank Indonesia is part of the organizational and human resource transformation to strengthen organizational effectiveness and implementation of tasks at Bank Indonesia.
