Banjarmasin – A number of press organization leaders in South Kalimantan emphasized that the Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) is not a place for people who just want to fill time or seek positions, but must be filled by individuals who truly have experience and competence in the broadcasting world.

The Chairperson of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of South Kalimantan, Zainal Helmie, emphasized that KPID has a strategic role in supervising and building the broadcasting industry in the region. “KPID is not just a formality, but an institution that requires people who truly understand the world of broadcasting, regulations, and the challenges of the media industry today,” he said.

The Chairperson of the Indonesian Television Journalists Association (IJTI) of South Kalimantan, Dina Qomariah, said that the challenges of broadcasting in the digital era require KPID to be filled by individuals who understand this industry technically and regulatoryly. “If the selected commissioners do not have a broadcasting background, how can they oversee policies and maintain broadcast quality? KPID is not a place for those who just want to fill their free time,” he said.

KPID commissioners must have an understanding of the digital ecosystem in order to formulate relevant policies,” he said.

The Head of the Indonesian Cyber Media Union (SMSI) of South Kalimantan, Anang Fadillah added that KPID should be a place for those who are dedicated to the progress of the broadcasting industry. “We see that there are applicants who have decades of experience in television and radio.
