Martapura – In order to support the smoothness and comfort of the congregation at the 20th Guru Sekumpul Haul event which was held on Sunday, January 12 2025, the Indonesian Motorcycle Association (IMI) South Kalimantan opened a special post which provides free food, drink and health check services. This post is a form of IMI South Kalimantan’s contribution to the success of one of the largest religious events in South Kalimantan.
Chairman of IMI South Kalimantan, H Ir Edy Sudarmadi Sunday (5/12/2025) explained that this post was established as a form of the organization’s concern for the congregation who came from various corners, both within and outside the province. “We want to ensure that the congregation can worship comfortably. Therefore, we provide services that can meet their basic needs while participating in this haul,” he said.
The South Kalimantan IMI Rest Area and Command Post is located at the Haji Harmadji Baitul Mutaqim Mosque, a strategic location around the Banjarbaru City area, so it is easily accessible to the congregation. The services provided include providing free food and drinks, as well as light health checks such as checking blood pressure, blood sugar, and health consultations with medical personnel on duty.
Since morning, this post has been filled with pilgrims who want to take advantage of the facilities provided. One of the congregants from Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan, Nur Aini (45), expressed his gratitude for this initiative. “We are greatly helped by the presence of this post. Long journeys feel easier with the food, drink and health check services,” he said.
Apart from service posts, IMI South Kalimantan also deployed a team of volunteers to help regulate traffic and provide information to pilgrims who need it. This step was taken to support the smooth flow of congregations which are estimated to reach hundreds of thousands of people.
The 20th Haul Guru Sekumpul event is a moment that is highly anticipated by the Muslim community, especially in South Kalimantan. Guru Sekumpul, or KH. Muhammad Zaini bin Abdul Ghani, is a great cleric who is respected not only in Indonesia, but also at the international level. Every year, his haul is always attended by a sea of congregants who come with great sincerity to remember his services.
With the presence of this post from IMI South Kalimantan, it is hoped that the congregation can carry out haul activities more comfortably and solemnly. “We are committed to continuing to make positive contributions to society, especially at large events like this. We hope that the existence of this post will provide maximum benefits,” concluded the Chairman of IMI South Kalimantan.
