Harmadji Racing Team Holds Biggest Drag Race in Kalimantan, Hundreds of Racers Compete for Speed

Banjarbaru – The hot atmosphere of the drag race world enveloped South Kalimantan! Starting Saturday-Sunday (10-11/5/2025) Drag Bike and Monday (12/5/2025) Drag Race, Harmadji Racing Team (HRT) officially started a grand event titled Speed Week Kalimantan Drag Series 2025. This event was held at the Non-Permanent Circuit in the South Kalimantan Governor’s Office area, Banjarbaru, and was immediately stormed by hundreds of racers from various regions.

No half measures, until the day before the race, 450 starters were recorded—both from the car and motorbike drag race categories—ready to compete in reaction, power, and speed on the straight track.

“We want to provide a legal and professional space for young people who like drag racing. At the same time, it will revive the excitement of workshops and local automotive MSMEs,” said Adhi Dharma Prasetyo, the Chief Executive and initiator of the event from HRT who is familiarly called Tiyo,

According to Tiyo, the enthusiasm of the participants was extraordinarily high. In fact, until the day itself, registrations were still flowing. Participants came from all over Kalimantan, creating a competitive and prestigious cross-regional competition.

This Speed Week is not only an event to show off speed, but also a forum for community and racing workshops to get together. Senior and junior racers poured out, sharing tracks and enthusiasm.

“We also want this event to be known more widely, even nationally. This is part of our mission to raise Kalimantan motorsport so that it is not less popular than Java,” added Tiyo.

However, behind the excitement, there is still homework. Tiyo admitted that the biggest challenge at the moment is the matter of facilities, considering that the event is held on a non-permanent circuit. In the future, he hopes that government support can help realize a permanent circuit.

Support also came from the Chairman of IMI South Kalimantan, Edy Sudarmadi, who saw the great potential of this event to become an annual national agenda.

“Participants are always increasing. This is proof that the interest of South Kalimantan’s youth in drag racing is very high. It’s time for us to have a permanent circuit so that racer development can be maximized,” he said.
