Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan, will host the 2024 South Borneo Rally, with seven main racers who have confirmed their participation in this national automotive event.
In a press conference held on Friday (18/10/2024), Deputy Chairman of the Committee Adi Wibowo revealed that the entire rally track will be located in Tapin Regency. This is a significant change from the previous event which involved two regencies in South Kalimantan.
“We have prepared five challenging and varied tracks or special stages (SS), with a total distance of 240 kilometers,” said Adi Wibowo in front of regional and national journalists at the TAMASA Hall, Tapin Regent’s Office.
Tapin Regency Regional Secretary, Sufiansyah, added that this event is expected to be more than just a sporting event. “We hope that the 2024 South Borneo Rally can be a means to introduce the potential of regional tourism, as well as local culture and crafts,” he said.
The press conference was also attended by a number of well-known rally drivers who will compete, who expressed their enthusiasm for facing the challenging track terrain in the Tapin area. “The Tapin track is very unique and varied; we are ready to give our best,” said one of the rally drivers.
The 2024 South Borneo Rally will be held on October 18, 2024, starting with a ceremonial event at the Start point, and will last until October 20, 2024. This annual event is expected to attract the attention of many automotive enthusiasts and tourists.
