It Does Not Limit Raksa Nugraha to the Recognition of Business Actors in Protecting Consumers

JAKARTA – The Raksa Nugraha Indonesia Consumer Protection Award (ICPA) is not limited to recognizing business actors responsible for protecting consumers.

The Head of the National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN) conveyed this statement Rizal E. Halim in the Awarding of Raksa Nugraha ICPA in Jakarta, Monday (30/11/2020).

“Of course, BPKN considers it necessary to give recognition for the achievements of business actors who are responsible and show excellent performance in carrying out their obligations to protect consumers,” he explained.

Rizal added, the awarding of Raksa Nugraha was motivated by the condition of implementing consumer protection, which has not been optimal in protecting consumers since the Consumer Protection Law came into effect 20 years ago.

“Raksa Nugraha also has the meaning of consumer protection. Consumers are a gift, there are no consumers, so there will be no business actors,” he explained.

Implementing the 2020 ICPA has been in progress since June 2020, starting with a launch until the determination of the ranking in August 2020.

Unlike last year, this year it held the ranking of Raksa Nugraha in two categories, the Private Entity Category (Business Entity / BUMN / BUMD). Meanwhile, the Public Entity Category (including the Central Government, in this case Ministries / Institutions or Local Government in this case the Provincial Government).
