South Korea – Plasma Donation is planned to last for 3 weeks from 16th to 11th of next month at the Daegu Athletics Center Indoor Stadium – 4,000 Shincheonji members are planned to include 1,700 members who have taken part in the previous two plasma donations.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Temple of the Tabernacle of Testimony (Chairman Man Hee Lee, “Shincheonji”) stated that they will hold the third round of group plasma donations starting on the 16th of this month for 3 weeks. About 4,000 Shincheonji members are expected to count in this plasma donation.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) submitted a request to the Shincheonji Church of Jesus last month for them to be included in a plasma donation stating, “It is necessary to develop plasma treatment rapidly through plasma group donations, while effective treatment is still not emerging while COVID-19 continues at domestic and abroad.”
Shincheonji Church of Jesus held two rounds of plasma group donations in July and September. So far, 2,030 people are counting in donated plasma with the aim of developing plasma treatments and about 1,700 of them are members of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus. There are 312 people who are responsible not twice.
Deputy Director of the Central Disaster Management and Safety Office, Kwon Joon-wook said during the last routine briefing, “For the sake of developing plasma treatment, about 4,000 Shincheonji members plan to add in plasma donation for three weeks, starting from the 16th. We are grateful for the active participation of Shincheonji, and for the cooperation of Daegu City and the Korean Red Cross. ”
The third group donation plasma will be held at the Daegu Athletics Center Indoor Stadium, with workers working to ensure a smooth process. As with the first and second plasma donation rounds, participants will refuse to receive travel grants of 20,000 to 30,000 won, to reduce the burden on taxpayers.
A member of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “I am happy and grateful to hear the news (CG Green Cross) that plasma medication is being used for treatment situations. This is the closest thing we can do (as people who have recovered from COVID). “He added,” based on experience in plasma donation, all members of the congregation have realized that the power to defeat COVID-19 is unity. We will do our best so that South Korea can defeat COVID-19 through plasma treatment. ”
He also added, “I understand that many people are worried because the order to close church facilities has been lifted by the local government. Rest assured that all Shincheonji churches in South Korea plan to continue to worship online until the COVID-19 situation stabilizes, even though the order to close facilities and ban gatherings has been lifted, our group of congregation members is protected and for the health and safety of our society.”
