AFTER THE SUCCESS OF THE FILM ANCIKA, BUDI ISMANTO WORKS ON “CONJURIG”

BANJARMASIN – After the success of the box office film Ancika Dia yang Bersama Ku 1995, producer Budi Ismanto is back working on a new film, titled “Conjurig”. This comedy drama genre film is already in the production stage.

“God willing, the Conjurig film will air in February 2025. Currently, the Conjurig film is in the process of being shot. The locations are all in the city of Bandung,” said Budi Ismanto after the thanksgiving event for the first day of shooting for the Conjurig film at De Braga Hotel Bandung, Friday (4/24) to the media crew.

The Conjurig film is a comedy drama film that highlights the ups and downs of the lives of cosplay “ghosts” who usually hang out in the Asia Afrika and Braga areas of Bandung, West Java.

This hilarious film was directed by Tubagus Deddy who also acted as the scriptwriter.

Budi Ismanto brought in handsome actor Dito Darmawan as the main character and singer Maizura as the female lead. “Dito and Maizura, have the right match to play in the film Conjurig. They are two young stars who are on the rise, and I am optimistic that they will play their roles to the max in this film,” said Budi Ismanto.

The film Conjurig also stars a number of seasoned actors such as Matias Muchus, Bucek Depp, Joe P Project, Ferry Maryadi and a number of artists from Bandung.

The film Conjurig itself was produced by Bima Sakti Pictures in collaboration with Global Borneo Entertainment, two production houses from South Kalimantan.

Asked about the target, Budi Ismanto did not dare to set the number of viewers. He is optimistic that the film Conjurig will be a very entertaining film and will be liked by Indonesian film lovers. “Hopefully this film will be a film that Indonesian film audiences will like,” said

DITO’S ACTING DUEL – MAIZURA

Conjurig Film Director Tubagus Deddy said the word Conjurig was taken from the name of the jurig (read: ghost) community that often cosplays in the areas of Jalan Asia Afrika and Jalan Braga. Inspired by that, he admitted that the film he made would tell the story of the jurig community in Bandung.

“Actually this is about honesty, that behind the cosplay, behind the mask, they are honest by wearing cosplay, because earning money with cosplay is real honesty,” he said when met during a production thanksgiving in Bandung.

Deddy said the Conjurig film tells the story of Dito as the main character who chooses to return to Bandung from Jakarta and chooses to become a street artist.

“So it turns out that what was planned from the start, school, college, work, did not match his fashion. It turns out that his fashion is in art and music,” said Deddy.

Deddy said the Conjurig film will highlight the comedy and social drama side. He wants to raise the social reality of the Bandung “ghost” cosplayers. “So this may look horror but the packaging we can probably give a message more easily,” said Deddy.

Dito himself felt comfortable being involved in the Conjurig film. He considered the theme in the Conjurig film had never been raised before, namely cosplayers. Including the shooting location in Bandung City.

“So I hope that the audience can also accept that. Because this is something new, but packaged very beautifully,” he said.

Meanwhile, Maizura was happy to collaborate with Bandung artists in the film. Since reading the script, he felt comfortable and there were no barriers.

“So we did tek-tokan, the reading was really good. It felt like a family. So it made the reading process easier,” he said.

Conjurig film producer Budi Ismanto said the Conjurig film shooting process is estimated to last for the next 16 days. Continued post-production between the next two to three months.
