The Secretary General of WPO, Dr. Mari Paus, MM, recently led a successful Anggur harvest at a 1.5-hectare vineyard in Cikijing, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. The vineyard, managed by WPO-trained farmers, yielded over 200 kg of grapes per harvest, with four harvests annually.
Supporting Domestic Market and Food Security
The grapes, sourced from Japanese and Ukrainian varieties, cater to the domestic market, contributing to Indonesia’s food security. This initiative aligns with WPO’s pillar of promoting prosperity and supports the government’s efforts in ensuring food availability.
Positive Impact on Local Community
The initiative has also had a positive impact on the local community, providing employment opportunities, enhancing agricultural skills through WPO’s training programs, and fostering community involvement and cooperation.
By supporting such initiatives, WPO demonstrates its commitment to fostering prosperity and food security, aligning with national development goals.
