So Many Lawsuits of Pilkada, PP KAMMI Encourages All Parties to Evaluate Pilkada

Jakarta – The Central Board of the Indonesian Muslim Student Action Association (Pengurus Pusat Kesatuan Aksi Mahasiswa Muslim Indonesia – PP KAMMI) highlighted the many disputes over the results of the 2020 general elections. The number of disputes is an evaluation of all parties involved and participating in the implementation of the elections.

PJS General Chairperson of PP KAMMI, Susanto conveyed that the simultaneous regional elections on 9 December 2020 were held in 270 regions in Indonesia, 9 provinces, 224 districts and 37 cities, this is an agenda that must be evaluated on a large scale.

“All parties must clean up, KPU, Bawaslu, state officials, political parties, success team, as well as the participating communities, this is the responsibility of all of us,” said Susanto on Thursday (24/12/2020).

Coordinator of the KAMMI Election Monitoring Agency, Fadly Idris, said that the Pilkada which is unusual in the midst of a pandemic should be a lesson for the next regional election.

“The rise of violations has made this regional election an evaluation that must be used as a lesson, the neutrality of ASN, violations during the campaign etc., should not be ignored. Violations must not stop at the table at the center of “gakumdu” alone. But we have to settle the issue of the regional head elections,” concluded the activist from Jakarta State University.

Previously, the General Election Commission (Komisi Pemilihan Umum – KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia said there were 123 requests for dispute over election results (Perselisihan Hasil Pemilu – PHPU) in the 2020 Pilkada Simultaneously and the Indonesian Attorney’s Office processed 94 cases of election violations that occurred in the 2020 Pilkada.

The pilkada process is still ongoing until the dispute and the stipulated regulatory mechanisms are completed.
