Jakarta – Stamps bearing the face of the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Ukraine, Prof. Dr. Yuddy Chrisnandi was recently officially launched in Kyiv Ukraine as a tribute to his services in improving the friendly relations between Indonesia and Ukraine
A press release from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Kyiv received in Jakarta, Thursday (21/10/2021) stated that the submission of stamps with the face of Prof. Yuddy Chrisnandi was carried out by Mr. Yuriy Kosenko, Head of the NGO “Ukraine Initiative” at a diplomatic reception for the farewell of the Indonesian Ambassador which took place in the hall of the Indonesian Embassy in Kyiv on October 16, 2021.
In addition to the face of the Indonesian Ambassador, on the Ukrainian stamps, the face of the Indonesian National Hero, General Sudirman, is also enshrined. This stamp printing is a souvenir presented by Ukraine as a tribute to the inspirational Indonesian National Heroes in Ukraine.
The stamp printing of the Indonesian Ambassador to Ukraine was carried out as a tribute to Ambassador Yuddy Chrisnandi’s efforts in increasing Indonesia-Ukraine cooperation in various fields for 4.5 years.
It was also mentioned that the printing of stamps bearing the face of the Indonesian Ambassador to Ukraine and the face of National Hero General Sudirman was the first time that the Ukrainian side had done this, which is certainly a matter of pride for Indonesia.
In this regard, the Head of Foreign Affairs of the Indonesian Cyber Media Union (SMSI) Aat Surya Safaat appreciated the efforts of the Indonesian Ambassador to Ukraine, Prof. Dr. Yuddy Chrisnandi who has succeeded in improving Indonesia’s relations and cooperation with Ukraine, Armenia and Georgia as well as improving Indonesia’s image in the Eastern Europe region.
The Head of the Bureau of News Agency ANTARA New York from 1993-1998 assessed that Prof. Yuddy Chrisnandi as the Head of the Indonesian Representative for Ukraine has carried out “First track diplomacy”, in the sense of bringing closer relations and cooperation between governments or “G to G” (Government to Government) well.
In the future, this proud achievement needs to be followed up with “Second track diplomacy”, as a diplomatic activity involving non-government actors, commonly known as “B to B” (Business to Business) and “P to P” (People to People) relationships. .
“So, in the future, relations between entrepreneurs or business and economic relations as well as relations between the people of the two countries need to be improved,” said Aat.
The Chief Editor of the 2016 ANTARA News Agency added, “Second track diplomacy”, especially through cultural diplomacy which is an important part of the “P to P” relationship, needs to be improved in an effort to increase mutual understanding and bring closer relations between the Indonesian people and the Ukrainian people.
“In this regard, journalists or journalists in both countries can play a very significant role in the framework of ‘Second track diplomacy’,” said the advisor to the Indonesian Academics Forum (FAI).
