Banjarmasin Street Musicians Released Health Protocol Song about Against Covid-19

BANJARMASIN – The conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic did not reduce enthusiasm for work. On the other hand, Covid-19 seems to inspire young people in the City of a Thousand Rivers.

Reportedly, in mid-October 2020 a song and video clip will be released by street musicians from Sekolah Musik Jalanan (SMJ) Yayasan Al AJYB Banjarmasin.

Uniquely, the song that will be released is about Covid-19 entitled “Tetap Disiplin” with the pop blues genre, worked on by SMJ with five of its members. The members are Sandy as vocalist, Bahtiar on rhythm guitar, Ariz Fadillah on melodic guitar, while bass is filled by M Misran and Reza Mahlupi on drums.

The making of the video clips itself will collaborate with the Banjarmasin City Government and a number of communities in Banjarmasin.

Why about Covid-19? Responding to this, Bahtiar as the lyricist and chairman of the SMJ said they wanted to participate in helping the government urge the public to be aware of the dangers of Covid-19.

“We intend to help the government in urging the public to be aware of the dangers of this pandemic through a song that is wrapped in lyrics in the form of appeals and light music arrangements,” explained Bahtiar, Saturday (10/10/2020).

The song he wrote tells of the unfinished struggle to fight and break the chain of Covid-19.

Bahtiar revealed that the cultivation of the song he wrote lasted for more than 3 months. Starting at the end of May, it was finished in early September which took about five days for the production of the lyrics and the raw arrangement.

“For the music arrangement, there are three completion processes that take about 1 month to work on. The beginning of working on this song began at the end of May and the completion of early September.” Bahtiar explained.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Al Ajyb Foundation, Algi Rifani said that the song and video clips were worked on as a form of their gratitude to the Covid-19 Task Force which has been struggling to deal with the pandemic.

He said, the song was deliberately made to cheer up the heart which was saddened.

“Which this pandemic has made us worse off, both among the community and health workers,” he added.

The creation of this song is also intended to invite people to remain productive in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“In addition to inviting health protocol discipline, this song also aims to remain creative and productive in the midst of the current virus pandemic,” concluded Algi.

Meanwhile, Ijai, a street singer in Banjarmasin, hopes that the owners of small shops and houses are not allergic to the actions of the street singers who are looking for a bite of rice. By singing songs, to every shop, restaurant, market and alley in the villages.

“The period of the Covid-19 pandemic must be a common concern. Must be fought, the buskers also care. Every time we sing, we always wear a mask, keep our distance and wash our hands. So don’t be allergic to us, ”said the street singer who specializes in food stalls and markets.
