Student Demonstration at South Kalimantan DPRD, Seven Drunken Youths Secured by Police

Banjarmasin – Police officers from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the South Kalimantan Regional Police arrested 4 (four) drunken men who entered the student demonstration which was taking place in front of the South Kalimantan Provincial DPRD Office, Tuesday (20/10/2020) at 14.00 WITA.

The four youths who entered the middle of the student demonstration carrying a bottle of the Gaduk type of alcoholic drink had the initials AI (22), F (23), TR (18), and H (17).

Fortunately, the security officers were quick and responsive to secure the drunk man that aged 17-23 years. Furthermore, the drunken man who had infiltrated while hundreds of students were voicing their aspirations to members of the South Kalimantan Council was immediately arrested by officers.

At the same place, the Banjarmasin Police also secured 3 (three) drunken youths respectively with the initials MA (16), MN (16) and MR (17).

South Kalimantan Police Chief, Inspector General Pol. Dr. Nico Afinta, S.I.K., S.H., M.H. who directly monitored the security of the demonstration, confirmed the arrest of the seven youths. The youths have now been secured at the South Kalimantan Regional Police Headquarters and the Banjarmasin Police Headquarters to be given counseling, direction and guidance so as not to repeat their actions.

“It is true, seven youths aged 17 to 23 years have been arrested while drunk on the Gaduk type of alcohol and currently training is being carried out,” said Head of South Kalimantan Regional Police, Inspector General of Police. Dr. Nico Afinta, S.I.K., S.H., M.H.

As previously reported, there was a student demonstration to convey their demands regarding the rejection of the Omnibus Law on Job Creation (Cipta Kerja).
