Banjarmasin – South Kalimantan will get more concern by infrastructure development through APBN upcoming 2021. This great news was made by the Central Government, through the Deputy Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) John Wempi Weitipo, who visited South Kalimantan, Wednesday (21/10).
John said, “The Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono asked me to be here. I have reported about to go to South Kalimantan. He says it is because South Kalimantan needed more concern of infrastructure development from the center for the future, ” at Idham Chalid Building, Banjarbaru South Kalimantan.
He was accompanied by a member of the Indonesian Parliament from the South Kalimantan constituency, Rifqinizamy Karsayudha.He admitted, so far there was a limited budget to accommodate the ideas of all regions in Indonesia. “We cannot accommodate all of them,because of limited budget and Indonesia is really large, that’s why I came here to get more information about what infrastructure needs for South Kalimantan in the future, ”
Budget 2021 for infrastructure sector will receive IDR 148 trillion. “Previously in 2020, the infrastructure budget was cut for handling Covid by Rp. 46 trillion,” it said.
He asked the local government to make some infrastructure development program needed in South Kalimantan to be presented to the PUPR minister.
He said, “Also, in South Kalimantan, there are also Ministry of PUPR centers that able to communicate or convey the ideas of infrastructure development needs to the central government,”
John also hopes that there will be a good communication between the PUPR Ministry and local governments to ensure this future projects for infrastructure development in South Kalimantan.
Governor of South Kalimantan, Rudy Resnawan expressed his gratitude to the members of Indonesian Parliament Rifqinizamy Karsayudha who had initiated the presence of John Wempi Weitipo to South Kalimantan.
Rudy asked the Deputy of PUPR for instruction about infrastructure development in South Kalimantan through APBN funds. Because not everything can be handled through the limited regional budget.
Rudy said, “its fair, because South Kalimantan is the oldest province in Kalimantan, it needs more infrastructure development through the state budget, such as the development of Banjarbakula area, Tanah Laut and Tanah Bumbu industrial areas, and South Kalimantan as the gateway to the nation’s capital,”
Meanwhile, Rifqinizamy, a member of the DPR RI, said that in 2021 performance of central budget for infrastructure development projects in South Kalimantan would increase by 100 percent.
He said, “Alhamdulillah, the budget for infrastructure development in South Kalimantan using the state budget will increase 100 percent in 2021,”
For this reason, Rifqi asked for synergy between the South Kalimantan Provincial Government, district / city governments ,and the community to continue to be well-knit in order to support various infrastructure development projects that will be carried out by the central government in South Kalimantan.
Rifqi said ,”We hope that all work together to support various development projects in the next 2021,”
The infrastructure that will be worked on in South Kalimantan starting next year is construction of Riam Kiwa, the arrangement and construction of Guru Sekumpul grave area in Martapura, the preservation of national roads between the Anjir Area of Batola Regency, Banjarmasin, Tanah Laut to Tanah Bumbu as well as several other vital projects in the irrigation sector and Bina Marga.
Deputy of PUPR was also attended by South Kalimantan Provincial Secretary Roy Rizali Anwar, Assistant II of Provincial Secretariat, Syaiful Azhari, heads of the Ministry of PUPR’s Kalimantan regional offices, as well as representatives of regional governments in South Kalimantan.
