Humbahas – The Sipinsur Geosite in Pearung Village, Paranginan District, Humbang Hasundutan (Humbahas) Regency, North Sumatra Province, is one of 16 Toba Caldera Geoparks which offers quite charming natural scenery.
Apart from having cool air surrounded by rows of towering pine trees, this area has been visited by many local and international tourists since it was inaugurated in 2018.
“President Jokowi has visited this place (Sipinsur Geosite) twice,” said Hasundungan Manurung, manager of the Sipinsur Geosite, Sunday (05/02/2023).
Since President Jokowi’s visit, the Sipinsur Geosite has become the mainstay of the Humbahas Regency Government in the tourism sector.
“On national holidays, visitors can reach 3 thousand people,” said Hasundungan when receiving the Toba Caldera Geopark Expedition group for the 2023 Indonesian Cyber Media Union (SMSI). North.
The general chairman of SMSI Firdaus and his entourage and provincial and regency/city SMSI administrators in Indonesia were also amazed to see the natural panorama of the Sipinsur Geosite.
“It’s really important natural beauty to be enjoyed. The Toba Caldera Geopark is part of the world heritage that we need to protect. Let’s write with taste and love,” said Firdaus to the SMSI ranks.
Expressions of admiration were also expressed by the Chairman of SMSI, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. As soon as he set foot on the Sipinsur Geosite, he was immediately stunned and then recorded the beautiful moment with his cell phone.
“This is amazing. Really. We will viral this to the people of South Sumatra. So far they only know Lake Toba. It turns out that there are quite a lot of charming tourism potentials around it,” he said.
Similar to other geosites, the Sipinsur Geosite was also formed after the eruption of Mount Toba 24 thousand years ago. In contrast to other geosites, the Sipinsur Geosite area has a pointed shape which is at a height. From above, the expanse of Lake Toba is so beautiful with the hills surrounding it.
