South Kalimantan Construction Association Askes To Be Involved in the Project to Move the State Capital

BANJARMASIN – Didn’t want to be a spectator, business actors in South Kalimantan held a dialogue about Banua Dialogue Series #1 Early Warning: Benefits of Moving IKN to East Kalimantan for the Community and Construction Industry of South Kalimantan. The recommendations that signed by the Construction Association consist of the National Association of Indonesian Consultants (Inkindo), the National Association of Indonesian Consultants (Intakindo), the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI), the Indonesian Construction Experts Association (HAKI), the Indonesian Consultants Association (Perkindo), the Association Indonesian Road Development (HPJI), Planning Expert Association (IAP), and Association of Indonesian Hydraulic Engineering Experts (HATHI) South Kalimantan.

Recommendations read out by Samsul Arifin Chairman National Association of Indonesian Consultants (Intakindo Kalsel),Achmad Zabir Djaenuddin MT mentioned, First, the Provincial Government of South Kalimantan and the Regency / City Government are accelerating the development of education and competency skills and HR skills in all sectors.

To become the main subject or actor in building the National Capital Region (IKN), so as not to be a spectator of migration and investment from Javanese and Sumatran residents who are competing to build the IKN area, without considering local culture and wisdom.

Second, the sustainability of the IKN must be supported by regional agglomeration that involves several districts / cities in the East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan which are adjacent to the IKN. “Yes, providing a real role for the community and the South Kalimantan construction industry in the success of IKN infrastructure development and the sustainability of IKN operations going forward,” he said.

In fact, he continued, the Provincial Government of South Kalimantan should accelerate the process of revising the RT/RW and other strategic plans to adjust to the IKN. “The Provincial Government of South Kalimantan is expected to be the initiator of the formulation of agglomeration between regions on the Kalimantan island,” he said

Third, he explained, South Kalimantan’s strategic area development plan must be considered in the sustainability of the IKN development as an inter-provincial agglomeration area which is always considered by the region.

“Yes, point four includes the development of integrated transportation for the IKN area, the existence of a river function as a local transportation infrastructure that interconnects with road transportation, including the development of transportation access to IKN to South Kalimantan through Tabalong and Tanah Bumbu Regencies,” he said.

Fifth, the need for the preparation of a master plan and action plan for the roles and functions of South Kalimantan as a buffer for the IKN, including in the infrastructure sector. “Sixth, the inventory and identification of potential natural resources obtained to support the needs of the IKN, utilizing the potential of surface irrigation and swamps as agricultural land to support IKN food,” he added.

Fifth, building a marketing network for the needs of the IKN according to the potential of its product, with the development of production and packaging technology, promotion and marketing systems and distribution channels,

The recommendations offered to the government and business actors can be taken seriously. “We hope that all the recommendations resulting from the Banua Dialogue are able to provide input for the government and business actors to be followed up as a form of welcoming the presence of IKN in East Kalimantan,” he said.
