Banjarmasin – The Student Executive Board Forum in South Kalimantan (BEM) held an audience at the South Kalimantan Representative Assembly (DPRD), Monday (16/9/2020).
The BEM representative from higher education in South Kalimantan demanded that the people’s representatives be more sensitive and concerned about environmental and education issues in South Kalimantan.
“We urge the South Kalimantan Representative Assembly to be more sensitive and caring. Through their authority, the people’s representatives can fight for environmental and educational issues. By taking concrete actions through regulations and supervision, ”said the Coordinator of BEM for South Kalimantan, Ahdiat Zairullah.
Ahdiat said, there are four crucial points that members of the South Kalimantan Representative Assembly must pay attention to. “First, the students asked the legislators to immediately make formulations to anticipate the potential for forest and land fires in Banua. Second, the South Kalimantan Representative Assembly is also asked to be more sensitive to the issue of equal distribution of education issues and the right to education personnel, “he said.
According to Ahdiat, the third point is that the council is expected to perform more in favor of environmental preservation, in order to produce fair policies.
“BEM South Kalimantan urged the board to follow up the abstract made by BEM by showing evidence in the form of documentation. We hope the South Kalimantan DPRD will follow up on the recommendations of the problems that we convey with real actions, “he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission III Sahrujani and Chairman of the South Kalimantan DPRD, Supian HK responded enthusiastically to the wishes of the students. Since BEM actively performs a supervisory function as well as environmental, social and educational.
“The DPRD of South Kalimantan, with a total of 55 people, responds that if they go to the constituency, it will not necessarily be able to accommodate the aspirations of all the people,” said Supian HK.
Supian gave his appreciation for the response of the students to participate in the supervision of development in South Kalimantan.
