Amparan Tatak Delicous Traditional Cake from South Kalimantan

Besides known as the city of a thousand rivers, Banjarmasin has a variety of delicious traditional cakes. Such as amparan tatak, sarimuka,and bingka. Banjarmasin is famous for its various traditional culinary. Not only Soto Banjar, the traditional cakes are also must to try.

Amparan tatak cake is one of the traditional cakes from Banjar, South Kalimantan which is made from a mixture of rice and coconut milk which is then added with pieces of banana or jackfruit.The distinctive feature of this cake is that it has a soft and fragrant texture, and has a sweet taste but still tastes delicious.

Amparan tatak cake is often a favorite menu for breaking the fast during the month of Ramadan.This traditional snack has a white color with a banana or jackfruit on the inside.
The smells that is produced comes from a mixture of fruit mixed with coconut milk and Pandan leaves. As for the taste, the banana and coconut milk giving a sweet and savory taste.

Why is it called amparan tatak? Because they take it from the word ‘amparan’ and ‘tatak’ which means cut. So this is practically a banana cake that is spread out and cut into pieces.

Similar to nagasari, it also makes this cake from a mixture of rice flour and coconut milk, and a sticky banana slice in the middle. Then steamed for an hour.
