Visitors Increase, MAJT Adds Portable Washbasin

Semarang – As the number of visitors increases, the Great Mosque of Central Java (MAJT) has increased the number of portable handwashing points. The portable sink is a help from various parties. With the opening of several religious tourism sites (wali pilgrimage) and other tourist attractions, it has an impact on increasing visits to MAJT.

This is the concern of MAJT managers by increasing the number of points for washing hands to prevent the transmission of covid-19.

“The addition of a hand washing place in the MAJT environment is our obligation as managers in order to support government policies to prevent the transmission of covid-19. Since the beginning of the pandemic we have installed hand washing stations and implemented other health protocols,” explained MAJT Executive Secretary, KH Muhyiddin, after receiving portable sink assistance from the Rotary Club, Saturday (3/10/2020).

During the pandemic, MAJT made various preparations to welcome worshipers and visitors by implementing health protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19, including installing hand washing stations, socializing the implementation of health protocols, regulating prayer spacing, and other prevention protocols.

KH Muhyiddin added, many parties have helped MAJT in supporting the health protocol, one of which is Rotary International District 4320. The handover of assistance was delivered by DGE. Cindy Bachtiar as Coordinator of the Semarang Rotary Disaster Response Area and accompanied by PP. Dyah Anggraeni as Assistant Governor Area 2 District 3420. Rotary International handed over five portable sinks to the MAJT management represented by KH Muhyiddin.

The handover of aid was also attended by members of the Rotary Club of Semarang Soegijapranata, who had the task of handing over the sink assistance to MAJT, namely PP. Okky, IPP. Susetyo, Rtn. Redi, Rtn. Alimuddin, Rtn. Yohan, and Rtn. Ratna.

Apart from the Rotary Club, MAJT also received 10 portable sinks and 1,000 health masks from PT Sango Ceramic Indonesia.

“So far, PT Sango has helped us a lot on various occasions. Washbasin assistance and masks have really helped us to prevent Covid-19,” said Muhyiddin. (Aska)
