Bringing 32 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, Said Akhmad Zais Assegaf and Jayadi will be sentenced to life in prison

Banjarmasin – The continued trial of a drug case with 32 Kg of evidence with two defendants Said Akhmad Zais Assegaf (Habib) and Jayadi (separated file) finally arrived at the reading of the Requisition for Life Sentence by Public Prosecutor Agus S SH MH from the South Kalimantan Prosecutor’s Office, when the trial was held at the Banjarmasin District Court, Monday (21/9) yesterday afternoon.

The trial via video conference was chaired by the Head of Banjarmasin District Court M. Yuli Hadi SH MH and members of Jamser Simanjuntak SH and Daru SH MH were also present, Legal Advisor Dr. H. Fauzan Ramon SH MH and Budi SH.

The public prosecutor said that the two defendants were proven to have committed an offense against the law, because he offers to sell, sell, give, accept, act as an intermediary in the sale and purchase or buy or deliver narcotics class 1 which weigh more than 5 grams.

Committing a violation of article 114 paragraph (2) article 132 (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code with the threat of life imprisonment.

After hearing the charges, the two defendants, through their legal counsel, will defend themselves. The panel of judges will continue the trial next week.

While the defendant Dr. H. Fauzan Ramon SH MH said that the demand was not too heavy. However, Fauzan did not agree with the prosecutor, who carried out the two defendants.

“We think the case of Said (Habib) and Jayadi has a different sentence. Because when he was arrested it was different. But I am grateful that the two suspects have only been prosecuted for life, not sentenced to death,” he said.
